The shot with the glittering light bouncing on the sea surface was inspired by a simular shot, shot by Sven Nykvist, in the documentary “The light keeps me company” (2000).

According to the script first image was supposed to be the last in the finished film.
The first scene is shot where Tor-Andrè lives with his wife.
Andrea came up with the story and owned the now departed fish”Nelli”.
Irmelinn chose the Fredric Chopin score.
There is a anternative version of this film where the score is the song “Marooned” by Pink Floyd.
No fish was hurt during the shooting of this picture.
